C'est le genre de question que tout le monde se pose ou pas. La British Library a beau être très grande, ses rayonnages ne sont pas extensibles à l'infini... Alors les nouveaux bouquins, on les entrepose où ?

It's the kind of question you should ask yourself or not. The British Library is huge but its alleys and shelves are not infinite... So where do we put all the new books?

La British Library abrite plus de 150 millions de livres, certains datant même du 18ème s. Et chaque semaine, en moyenne 14 496 petits nouveaux font leur entrée. 1/3 est rangé sur 8 étages sous la bibliothèque et le reste dans des bâtiments gigantesques dans le Yorkshire, sur plus de 325km d'étagère (c'est IKEA qui doit être content).

The British Library hosts more than 150 millions books, some of them from as late as the 18th Century. Every week, an average of 14 496 new ones are coming. One third is stored on 8 floors under the library and the rest in massive buildings in the Yorkshire, on more than 325km of shelves (IKEA must be happy). 

Et plus la collection grandit, plus ils construisent de nouveaux bâtiments pour l'abriter.

Donc concrètement, non, la British LIbrary ne sera jamais saturée.

And as the collection grows bigger, they keep on building new spaces to host them. So the answer is no, the British Library will never be full.
